Log an item

Add an item to a room with a photo, a name, and a few optional details. The AI will suggest a name and category from the photo if you'd like the help.

When to use it

Logging is the entry point for everything else. Anything you'd like to make a decision about — keep, release, sell, preserve as a memory — starts here. You don't have to decide what to do at the time of logging.

How to use it

  1. 1

Tap the + button on the home tab or in any room.

If you're already in a room, the room is preselected for you.

  2. 2

Take a photo or pick one from your gallery.

Optional — you can log items without a photo. If you do add one, the AI tries to fill in the name and category for you.

  3. 3

Type or edit the item's name.

  4. 4

Pick a category if it's not already filled in.

  5. 5

    Choose the room.

  6. 6

Set how attached you feel on a 1–5 scale.

This affects whether the soft-challenge offer surfaces later. Default is 2 (Low).

  7. 7

Optionally toggle 'This is a group of similar items'.

For a stack you want to handle as one — old summer clothes, a box of cables. The whole group gets a single decision.

  8. 8

Optionally choose an outcome now, or leave the item undecided.

  9. 9

    Tap Save Item.

What to expect

  • If your item name is similar to one already in the same room, you'll see a soft duplicate-warning modal listing the candidates with their photos. You can tap a candidate to view it, save anyway, or cancel.
  • If the AI auto-fills a name from your photo, the suggestion is editable — it never overwrites text you've already typed.
  • Items default to 'Undecided'. They show up in the decision queue on the home tab until you make a decision.
