Sentimental attachment

The feeling that an item is meaningful because of who or what it's connected to — a person, a place, a moment in your life.

Sentimental attachment is the most universally relatable form of object attachment. Almost everyone has something they couldn't easily release. It becomes a sticking point when many items carry that weight, or when releasing any of them feels like betraying the connection.

The premise behind memory keeper: the meaning lives in the memory of the person or moment, not in the physical object. Preserving the story honours the connection. Many people find that, once a memory is recorded, releasing the item becomes possible.
