Notifications

Notifications are intentionally sparse. Two cron jobs run each day — one in the morning, one at night — and decide what (if anything) to send you based on your streak and activity.

What you might receive

TypeWhenCondition
Streak reminderDaily, 8am UTCYou have an active streak of 2 days or more.
Challenge promptDaily, 8am UTCYou don't have an active streak (current streak under 2).
Gentle nudgeDaily, 10pm UTCYou've been inactive for 3 to 14 days.

You'll only ever receive one of streak reminder or challenge prompt on a given morning, and only the gentle nudge at night if you've been quiet for at least three days.

What they say

Streak reminder

(7+ days) You've been showing up for {N} days straight. That's real commitment. (Under 7) {N} days active. Fancy a quick session today?

Challenge prompt

Today's challenge is ready — A small step is waiting for you, whenever you're ready.

Gentle nudge

We're here when you're ready — No pressure at all. Every time you open this app, you're showing up for yourself.

Your settings

  • Notifications can be turned off entirely from your profile.
  • Notification tone (Encouraging, Neutral, Minimal) controls the wording. Minimal users only receive streak reminders and milestone celebrations — gentle nudges and challenge prompts are skipped.

Frequently asked

Will I get notifications on my non-home days?

Yes. Home days protect your streak from resetting, but they don't currently suppress notifications. If you'd rather not be pinged on non-home days, the simplest option is to mark an away period in the app or turn notifications off.

Does the app send weekly summary push notifications?

No. Weekly summaries are sent as emails to connected people, not as push notifications to you. The notification type exists in the schema but isn't wired to the push path.

Can I choose what time my morning notification arrives?

Not yet. There is a stored preferred notification time, but it isn't read by the cron job — all morning notifications go out at 8am UTC and all nightly ones at 10pm UTC.
